The traditional G.I. magazine is made from a thin sheet of aluminum. That means that when they get dropped, they get dinged, bent, bumped and will wear out relatively quickly when they see heavy use. After repeated use, especially in harsh conditions, you can end up with bent feed lips and other magazine mishaps that will cause magazine failure, which is one of the most common reasons your M4 or similar weapon will fail to fire.

These stainless steel magazines were designed to address that concern. They are stronger, tougher, more durable and has more structural integrity than the aluminum magazine. The feed lips are less likely to be bent out of shape and the magazine will not swell like an aluminum mag does when fully loaded.

Add to this the black Mar-Lube coating, a smooth black finish that matches most black rifles, and the anti-tilt follower, and you are looking at a package that offers significantly greater performance than the standard aluminum magazines at a minimally different price.

Don't let the name fool you -- these are not shiny silver magazines. The stainless steel is completely covered in a black moly coating.
